Neckline is one of the most overlooked style decisions in a tee, and it changes the whole proportion of an outfit more than most people expect.
Crew necks are the streetwear default for a reason: the higher, closed neckline keeps focus on the chest graphic and works cleanly under jackets, hoodies, and flannels without exposing extra skin or competing necklines.
V-necks elongate the torso visually and open up the chest area, which can work well for graphics placed lower on the tee or for a slightly dressed-up streetwear look, but they show more skin and layer less cleanly under a hoodie.
For graphic-heavy designs specifically, crew necks are usually the safer pick, since the graphic placement is designed around a straight, high neckline — a v-neck can cut into the bottom of a design that wasn't built for it.
