How to Care for Your Graphic Tees So Prints Never Crack

Most "the print cracked" complaints trace back to the dryer, not the shirt. Heat is the single biggest threat to a printed graphic.

Wash inside-out, always. This protects the print from direct friction against zippers, buttons, and other fabric in the wash, which is the main cause of surface cracking over repeated cycles.

Cold water, always. Hot water accelerates ink breakdown and causes shrinkage, which puts stress on the print as the fabric contracts around it.

Skip the dryer when you can, or use the lowest heat, tumble-low setting if you must. Air-drying flat or on a hanger adds essentially zero effort and dramatically extends how long a graphic stays crisp.

Skip fabric softener on printed tees — it leaves a residue that can dull both the fabric feel and the surface of the print over time. A normal detergent is all a ring-spun cotton tee needs.

Store folded rather than on a tight hanger for graphic-heavy tees, since hanging can stretch the shoulder area and distort the print's proportions over months of storage.
